About the Role

As a Datacenter Technician at NovaTech Solutions, you will be the backbone of our New York facility, ensuring reliable power, cooling, and networking for a high‑density server environment. You will perform hardware installations, conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot incidents, and support capacity planning initiatives that drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and replace rack‑mount servers, storage units, and networking gear following documented procedures. Monitor environmental controls, conduct routine inspections, and respond promptly to alerts to minimize downtime. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansions. Maintain accurate inventory logs, ticketing records, and compliance documentation. Provide on‑site support for remote hands services and assist with disaster‑recovery drills.

Requirements

Proven experience of 2+ years in datacenter operations or a related IT infrastructure role. Strong knowledge of server hardware (e.g., Dell, HPE, Lenovo), networking protocols, and power distribution units. Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus. Ability to lift 50 lb and work in confined spaces. Excellent problem‑solving skills, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work occasional weekend or on‑call shifts.

Education and Experience
