About the Role

As our Assistant General Manager, you will be the right hand to the General Manager, playing a critical role in ensuring the seamless daily operation of our New York restaurant. You’ll be responsible for managing key areas including front-of-house service, back-of-house logistics, inventory control, staff scheduling, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness. Your leadership will directly influence guest experience and operational efficiency, making you a cornerstone of our team’s success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff, fostering a positive, productive, and guest-centric culture.
  • Oversee daily restaurant operations, including service flow, table management, and resolving guest concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Manage inventory, food costs, and labor schedules to maximize profitability and minimize waste within budget parameters.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, conducting regular inspections and training.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on marketing initiatives, special events, and menu development.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures across all operational facets.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a proven track record in upscale restaurant management, ideally with 3+ years of experience as a Manager or Assistant Manager in a full-service establishment. A deep understanding of P&L management, labor forecasting, and inventory control is essential. You must demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, the ability to make decisive, data-driven decisions under pressure, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a hospitality degree or relevant certification is a significant asset.
