About the Role

As a Remote Surveyor, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting geospatial data to support various engineering and construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accuracy in land measurements, boundary determinations, and topographic surveys. This position allows you to work independently while contributing to large-scale infrastructure developments across the United States.

What You’ll Do

• Perform desktop research and remote data collection using GIS software, aerial imagery, and existing survey records
• Analyze land boundaries, property lines, and easements to ensure legal compliance
• Create detailed maps, plats, and technical drawings using CAD and other surveying software
• Review and verify survey data submitted by field teams
• Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for clients and regulatory agencies
• Collaborate with civil engineers and architects to provide accurate site information
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal surveying regulations

Requirements

Education & Certification

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Professional Surveyor (PS) license or ability to obtain licensure within 12 months
• Strong proficiency with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D)

Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 2-4 years of professional surveying experience
• Solid understanding of boundary laws, land subdivision principles, and platting regulations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to precision
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
