Ready to unleash your creativity without leaving your home office? We’re seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to power our next generation of products, all while enjoying the freedom of a fully remote setup. If you love turning sketches into functional, manufacturable solutions, this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

Salary Range

$55,000 – $75,000 USD per year (based on experience, skill set, and market benchmarks).

About the Role

As a Remote Mechanical Designer, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including engineers, product managers, and industrial designers—to develop 3D models, detailed drawings, and prototype specifications for a diverse portfolio of consumer and industrial products. Your designs will travel from concept to production, ensuring manufacturability, cost‑effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create high‑quality 3D models and 2D detailed drawings using SolidWorks, Inventor, or Fusion 360.
  • Develop bill‑of‑materials (BOM), tolerance analyses, and GD&T documentation.
  • Participate in virtual design reviews, providing feedback on feasibility, tooling, and assembly processes.
  • Iterate quickly based on prototype testing, supplier input, and design for manufacturability (DFM) guidelines.
  • Maintain version control and documentation in our PLM system, ensuring traceability and audit readiness.
  • Stay current with emerging materials, manufacturing methods, and industry trends to drive innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in consumer electronics, medical devices, or industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or Fusion 360) and familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack‑up, and DFM principles.
  • Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration, including video conferencing, project management tools (Asana, Jira), and file‑sharing platforms (SharePoint, Google Drive).
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping methods (3D printing, CNC machining) is a plus.

Benefits

  • Fully Remote Work: Operate from any location with a reliable internet connection.
  • Flexible Hours: Align your schedule with personal peak productivity times.
  • Competitive Salary & Annual Bonus: Reflective of experience and performance.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and mental‑health benefits.
  • Professional Development: Budget for certifications, online courses, and conferences.
  • Technology Stipend: Receive a one‑time allowance for ergonomic home‑office equipment.
  • Paid Time Off: Generous vacation, sick leave, and holidays to recharge.

Why Join Our Team?

We’re a fast‑growing, product‑focused company that values creativity, autonomy, and continuous learning. Our remote‑first culture means you’ll have the tools, trust, and support needed to excel—without the commute. From day one, you’ll own meaningful projects that directly impact customers worldwide.

How to Stand Out

Showcase a portfolio of 3D models and production‑ready drawings, highlight any remote collaboration experience, and share examples of how you solved complex design challenges. Demonstrating a proactive mindset and a passion for staying ahead of technology trends will set you apart.
