About the Role

As a Remote Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the full product development lifecycle—from initial concept sketches to detailed 3D models, prototyping, testing, and final production release. You’ll collaborate daily with electrical engineers, software developers, and product managers across multiple time zones using Slack, Zoom, and our proprietary PLM platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and tolerance stack‑up calculations to validate designs.
• Create rapid prototypes (3D‑printed, CNC‑machined) and oversee iterative testing.
• Work closely with suppliers to source components, generate BOMs, and ensure manufacturability.
• Document design decisions, generate DFM/DFA reports, and maintain engineering change orders.
• Participate in virtual design reviews, sprint planning, and agile retrospectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3‑7 years of hands‑on experience designing consumer‑grade mechanical products.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar CAD tools.
• Strong grasp of GD&T, material selection, and manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal, additive manufacturing).
• Experience with FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus) and rapid prototyping techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex ideas clearly in a remote setting.
• Self‑starter attitude with proven ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Reliable high‑speed internet connection and a dedicated home office workspace.
