About the Role

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing precise cost estimates and budgets for new construction projects. This involves meticulously analyzing blueprints, specifications, material requirements, and labor costs. You’ll utilize specialized estimating software to model quantities, calculate material and labor expenses, and identify potential cost savings or risks. Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, detailed cost estimates for new construction projects based on blueprints and specifications.
• Utilize estimating software (e.g., ProEst, On-Screen Takeoff) to model quantities, material costs, and labor hours.
• Analyze historical project data and market trends to forecast material and labor costs.
• Identify potential cost savings, risks, and opportunities for efficiency within projects.
• Prepare comprehensive written and verbal reports summarizing estimates, assumptions, and findings.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Review subcontractor bids and negotiate terms to ensure optimal project costs.
• Stay current with industry standards, building codes, and emerging technologies in estimating.

Requirements

We seek a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with a proven track record in construction estimating. A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is essential. You must possess strong proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
