Imagine designing the electrical backbone for the world’s next solar farm or wind energy storage facility—all from your home office. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Designer to contribute to high-impact renewable energy projects, offering complete location independence, a collaborative tech-forward culture, and a salary that reflects your expertise.

Salary & Compensation

We offer a competitive annual salary range of $85,000 – $115,000 USD, commensurate with experience, certifications, and proven project leadership. This role includes eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus and a comprehensive benefits package detailed below.

About the Role

As a Remote Electrical Designer, you will be instrumental in the successful delivery of utility-scale and commercial renewable energy projects. You will work within a dynamic engineering team to produce precise, code-compliant electrical designs, single-line diagrams, and construction drawings. Your work directly enables the transition to clean energy, providing you with tangible, planet-positive results. This is a full-time, 100% remote position with occasional optional team syncs and project milestone meetings via video conference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and draft electrical systems for solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and substations using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and protective device coordination studies.
  • Create detailed construction documents, specifications, and material take-offs.
  • Collaborate closely with civil, structural, and project management teams to ensure design integration.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to the latest NEC, IEEE, and local utility standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

We need a proactive problem-solver with a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and a track record in the renewable energy sector.

Must-Have Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a strong plus, but not required for all positions.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design for power systems, preferably within solar, wind, or energy storage.
  • Mastery of AutoCAD; proficiency in Revit MEP and/or AutoCAD Electrical is highly desirable.
  • Deep, practical knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), particularly Articles 690 (Solar PV) and 705 (Interconnected Power Sources).
  • Experience with engineering analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, or similar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.

Benefits & Perks

We believe in investing in our people as much as we invest in our projects. Enjoy a benefits suite designed for a healthy, balanced, and productive life.

  • True Remote Flexibility: Work from anywhere. We provide a home office stipend to optimize your workspace.
  • Comprehensive Health Coverage: 100% premium paid for employee medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Financial Wellness: 401(k) with a 4% company match, and access to financial planning resources.
  • Unlimited PTO: We focus on output, not hours. Take the time you need to recharge.
  • Professional Development: Annual budget for conferences, certifications, and courses to keep you at the industry’s forefront.
  • Technology Allowance: Regular upgrades for your computer, software licenses, and high-speed internet support.

Our Culture & Values

We are a mission-driven collective of engineers, innovators, and environmentalists. Our culture is built on trust, intellectual curiosity, and a shared commitment to a carbon-free future. We practice asynchronous communication to respect deep work time and global team members. Diversity of thought and background is not just welcomed—it is essential to our innovation. We celebrate clean energy milestones and support each other’s growth in a politics-free, purpose-focused environment.

How to Apply

If you are ready to design the future of energy from your home, please submit your resume and a portfolio showcasing 2-3 relevant electrical design projects ( drawings or detailed descriptions are fine) to our careers portal. In your cover letter, briefly describe the most challenging electrical design problem you solved on a renewable energy project and what the outcome was. We review every application carefully and will contact qualified candidates for an initial interview within 5 business days.
