Are you passionate about turning massive data sets into actionable trading insights? Our award‑winning fintech team is looking for a self‑driven Quantitative Researcher to work 100% remotely from anywhere in the United States. Bring your statistical expertise and innovative mindset to a collaborative environment that rewards creativity and results.

Salary Range

Estimated Compensation: $95,000 – $130,000 USD per year (base salary) + performance bonus and equity participation.

About the Role

As a Remote Quantitative Researcher, you will design, develop, and validate statistical models that inform algorithmic trading decisions across multiple asset classes. You’ll partner with engineers, data scientists, and portfolio managers to translate raw market data into robust, production‑ready signals.

  • Lead end‑to‑end research cycles: hypothesis generation, data collection, model building, back‑testing, and deployment.
  • Maintain a library of reusable research code in Python, R, or Julia.
  • Collaborate in virtual sprint meetings, code reviews, and cross‑functional brainstorming sessions.
  • Publish research findings in internal whitepapers and, when appropriate, external conferences.

Key Responsibilities

Model Development & Validation

  • Construct statistical and machine‑learning models (e.g., time‑series, Bayesian, deep learning) for price prediction, risk assessment, and portfolio optimization.
  • Perform rigorous out‑of‑sample testing and stress‑testing to ensure model robustness.

Data Engineering & Exploration

  • Extract, clean, and transform high‑frequency market data, alternative data sources, and macroeconomic indicators.
  • Automate data pipelines using SQL, AWS S3, and Airflow for reproducible research.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Present research results to senior leadership and trading desks via concise visual decks and live demos.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to a knowledge‑sharing culture through internal wiki pages and virtual brown‑bag sessions.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience building quantitative models for finance, trading, or risk management.
  • Proficiency in Python (NumPy, pandas, scikit‑learn), R, or Julia; strong SQL skills.
  • Solid understanding of stochastic calculus, time‑series analysis, and modern machine‑learning techniques.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting complex ideas to non‑technical audiences.
  • Self‑motivated with a proven track record of thriving in a fully remote environment.

Preferred Extras

  • Publications in peer‑reviewed journals or conference presentations.
  • Familiarity with quantitative libraries such as QuantLib, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Experience in high‑frequency trading (HFT) environments.

Benefits & Perks

  • Fully remote work setup – no commuting, flexible hours across U.S. time zones.
  • Competitive salary with quarterly performance bonuses and equity grants.
  • Generous health, dental, and vision plans; 401(k) match up to 5%.
  • Annual professional development stipend for courses, certifications, or conference travel (virtual or in‑person).
  • Home office allowance, high‑speed internet reimbursement, and ergonomic equipment budget.
  • Unlimited paid time off plus company‑wide wellness days.
  • Collaborative culture driven by Slack, Zoom, and virtual coffee chats – you’ll never feel isolated.
