Are you a culinary leader with a passion for operational excellence and team development? Join FreshRoute Logistics as a Remote First-Line Supervisor, where you will oversee high-volume food preparation workflows, ensure gold-standard quality control, and lead a distributed team of prep specialists from the comfort of your home.

About the Role

FreshRoute Logistics is redefining how food preparation is managed at scale. We are seeking a dynamic First-Line Supervisor of Food Preparation Workers to act as the strategic bridge between upper management and our frontline production teams. In this unique remote capacity, you will not be chopping vegetables, but rather orchestrating the symphony of production.

You will be responsible for monitoring real-time production metrics, coordinating schedules, and ensuring that all food safety and quality protocols are strictly followed across multiple regional hubs. Your primary goal is to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and mentor your team to achieve peak performance through digital oversight and virtual leadership.

Salary Range

$52,000 – $78,000 USD per year (Depending on experience and certifications)

Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

  • Manage daily production schedules to ensure all food preparation targets are met on time and within budget.
  • Utilize cloud-based inventory and production software to track raw material usage and finished goods.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure seamless transition from preparation to distribution.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Conduct virtual stand-up meetings to align the team on daily goals and safety priorities.
  • Provide remote coaching and performance feedback to food preparation workers to improve technique and speed.
  • Develop and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency across all production lines.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Audit digital logs and photo-documentation to ensure HACCP and FDA compliance.
  • Identify bottlenecks in the preparation process and implement corrective actions immediately.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to resolve discrepancies in product specifications.

Requirements

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food service management, kitchen supervision, or food production.
  • Proven track record of leading teams in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience with ERP software or food production management systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar).

Skills & Certifications

  • ServSafe Manager Certification: A mandatory requirement to ensure all safety standards are upheld.
  • Digital Proficiency: Expert-level ability to manage teams via Zoom, Slack, and project management tools.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret production data to make real-time adjustments to workflows.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to lead a diverse, remote workforce.
