<a href="https://wehired.agency/jobs/" style="color:var(--primary-color); font-weight:600;">Remote</a> Civil Engineer – United States (Shape America’s Infrastructure from Anywhere)

We are seeking a talented and motivated Civil Engineer to join our distributed team, working on high-profile projects that define skylines and connect communities. This is a fully remote position offering unparalleled flexibility, allowing you to deliver world-class engineering solutions from your home office while contributing to projects with national significance.

About the Role

As a Remote Civil Engineer, you will be integral to our project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and conceptual design through construction administration. You will leverage industry-standard software (like AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and GIS tools) to design site development, transportation, and water resources projects. Your primary responsibility is to produce accurate, code-compliant, and sustainable engineering deliverables while collaborating seamlessly with project managers, architects, and field teams via digital platforms. This role emphasizes independent problem-solving, proactive communication, and a commitment to technical excellence without the constraints of a physical office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform civil engineering design for site development, including grading, drainage, utility layout, and erosion control plans.
  • Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for stormwater management systems and floodplain studies.
  • Prepare construction documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and provide construction support services for assigned projects.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., ADA, EPA, AASHTO).
  • Participate in virtual client meetings, design workshops, and internal peer reviews.

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing in at least one U.S. state. (Note: We support and facilitate comity licensing for additional states as project needs arise).
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering design, preferably within a consulting engineering environment.
  • Expert proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project tasks independently, meet deadlines, and produce precise work.
  • U.S. residency and the ability to work a schedule overlapping with core business hours (typically 9 AM – 5 PM in a major U.S. time zone).

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (MSCE) or a related field.
  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) using Revit or InfraWorks.
  • Familiarity with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro) for spatial analysis and mapping.
  • Background in land development, transportation, or water resources engineering.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices (LEED, Envision, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear remote collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in compensating top-tier talent competitively and equitably. For this role, we offer a comprehensive package that reflects your experience and the value you bring.

Salary Range

$85,000 – $120,000 USD/year

(Final offer will be based on a thorough assessment of your skills, professional license, years of relevant experience, and market data for your region.)

Total Rewards Package

  • Health & Wellness: 100% premium-covered medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents. Plus, a generous annual wellness stipend.
  • Financial Security: 401(k) plan with a 4% company match. Annual performance-based bonus potential.
  • Time Off: Flexible PTO policy with a minimum of 20 days annually, plus 11 paid holidays and your birthday off.
  • Remote Work Support: One-time home office setup stipend. Annual technology and internet reimbursement.
  • Professional Growth: Annual $2,000 stipend for continuing education, conferences, and license maintenance. Dedicated time for learning.
  • Work-Life Integration: Truly flexible schedule. We focus on outcomes, not hours logged. Parental leave and sabbatical program eligibility.

Our Culture & The Opportunity

We are a purpose-driven firm that values technical rigor, innovation, and a sustainable approach to development. Our fully remote model was built on trust and collaboration, allowing engineers to focus on deep work without a draining commute. You will join a supportive, multidisciplinary team where your expertise is respected, and your ideas can directly influence the direction of major projects. This is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to build a rewarding career with a company that invests in your long-term success and well-being, all from the comfort of your chosen home base.

If you are a licensed, ambitious Civil Engineer ready to take on complex challenges with maximum autonomy, we want to hear from you. Please submit your resume, a cover letter detailing your relevant project experience and your interest in remote work, and a copy of your PE license (or indication of pending exam) for our review.
