About the Role

Our distributed datacenter network spans multiple regions, and we rely on skilled technicians to maintain peak performance without ever stepping into a physical facility. Working remotely, you’ll monitor environmental systems, execute hardware swaps, coordinate with on‑site partners, and document every action to uphold SLAs and security standards. This role blends hands‑on technical expertise with strong communication skills, offering a clear path to senior engineering or operations leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform remote diagnostics and remediation of server, storage, and networking equipment.
• Coordinate firmware upgrades, hardware replacements, and cable management with field partners.
• Monitor power, cooling, and environmental alerts; initiate corrective actions to prevent downtime.
• Maintain accurate asset inventory and update configuration management databases (CMDB).
• Participate in on‑call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical incidents.
• Generate detailed incident reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with network, systems, and security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

Technical Skills

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience with x86 servers (Dell, HPE, Supermicro) and SAN/NAS storage.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS).
• Familiarity with IPMI/iDRAC/iLO remote management tools.
• Experience with Linux/Windows server OS installation and basic troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of datacenter environmental monitoring (temperature, humidity, power).
• Basic scripting ability (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation tasks.

Soft Skills & Other Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey technical details clearly.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on root‑cause analysis.
• Self‑motivated, able to prioritize tasks independently in a remote setting.
• Willingness to participate in an on‑call schedule (approximately 1 week per month).
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant certifications (CompTIA Server+, CCNA, etc.) a plus.
