As a Remote Attorney, you will serve as the legal cornerstone of our product team. You will not be tied to a billable hour meter; instead, your value is measured by your impact on product quality, risk mitigation, and user experience. This is a true remote position—you will work from your home office, collaborating with a distributed team of engineers, product managers, and other legal professionals across the country.

Core Responsibilities

• Contract Review & Training Data Curation: Lead the review, classification, and annotation of diverse legal contracts (NDAs, MSAs, employment agreements, etc.) to train and validate our machine learning models.
• Legal Framework Design: Develop and maintain the taxonomies, playbooks, and clause libraries that form the intellectual backbone of our AI’s understanding.
• Product Validation & QA: Systematically test new features and model updates, identifying edge cases and ensuring outputs meet stringent legal accuracy standards.
• Client Support & Risk Assessment: Act as a senior escalation point for complex client queries regarding our tool’s outputs and advise on risk profiles for new use cases.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Translate complex legal concepts into clear requirements for engineers and product managers; act as the bridge between law and technology.

Requirements & Qualifications

We need a licensed attorney with a pragmatic, product-minded approach. You must be self-motivated, an exceptional communicator in writing, and comfortable in a fast-paced, iterative tech environment.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
• Minimum of 4 years of substantive legal experience, with a heavy focus on contract drafting, review, and negotiation (corporate, commercial, or tech transactional practice preferred).
• Proven ability to analyze complex contractual language, identify risks, and standardize provisions.
• Excellent written communication skills; ability to explain legal nuances to non-lawyers clearly and concisely.
• Tech-savvy and quick learner; proficiency with legal research databases (Westlaw/Lexis) and common office software. Exposure to legal tech, e-discovery, or AI concepts is a significant plus.
• Discipline and reliability to thrive in a fully remote setting with asynchronous collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range

Based on experience and qualifications, the estimated base salary range for this role is $95,000 – $135,000 USD per year. Final compensation will be determined through the interview process.
