About the Role

As a Remote Registered Nurse – ICU, you will provide high-level clinical support for critically ill patients, care teams, and healthcare organizations through secure virtual platforms. This role is designed for nurses with strong ICU experience who are comfortable assessing patient data, recognizing changes in condition, communicating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and supporting safe, evidence-based care decisions from a remote environment.

You may support tele-ICU monitoring, remote patient triage, utilization review, discharge planning, case management, or virtual care coordination. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient information, clinical documentation, vital signs, lab results, and treatment plans through secure remote systems.
• Provide ICU-level nursing insight to physicians, care teams, patients, and families when appropriate.
• Identify changes in patient condition and escalate concerns according to clinical protocols.
• Support care coordination, discharge planning, medication reconciliation, and continuity of care.
• Participate in virtual rounding, case reviews, and interdisciplinary communication.
• Document assessments, interventions, and recommendations accurately and timely.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, facility policies, regulatory standards, and professional nursing practice guidelines.
• Use electronic health records, telehealth platforms, and remote monitoring tools with confidence.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or eligibility for multistate licensure requirements.
• Minimum of 2+ years of recent ICU, critical care, step-down, telemetry, or acute care nursing experience.
• Strong clinical judgment with the ability to interpret patient data and prioritize care needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration with providers, patients, and care teams.
• Comfort working independently in a home-based environment with minimal supervision.
• Reliable high-speed internet, quiet workspace, and ability to use secure telehealth and documentation systems.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• CCRN, CMC, CSC, CMSRN, CCM, or related nursing certification.

• Experience with Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or other major electronic health record platforms.
• Background in medical-surgical ICU, cardiac ICU, neuro ICU, trauma ICU, surgical ICU, or emergency critical care.
