Compensation & Growth

We offer a competitive salary range of $48,000 – $72,000 USD/year, commensurate with your experience, investigative complexity handled, and performance. This role includes eligibility for performance-based bonuses and a clear path for advancement into senior investigator, team lead, or quality assurance specialist roles as you grow with our firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct In-Depth Investigations: Perform criminal, civil, employment, education, and reference verifications using a blend of online research, database queries, and telephone/email interviews.
• Source Development & Interviews: Skillfully contact and interview subjects, references, neighbors, and record custodians to gather factual, corroborated information.
• Analyze & Synthesize Data: Evaluate all collected information for relevance, accuracy, and red flags. Connect disparate data points to form a complete picture.
• Write Clear, Court-Admissible Reports: Document findings in detailed, objective, and well-organized investigative summaries that meet strict legal and client standards.
• Ensure Compliance: Adhere strictly to all governing laws (FCRA, GDPR where applicable), company policies, and client-specific protocols throughout the investigation lifecycle.
• Manage Caseload: Prioritize tasks, meet stringent deadlines, and maintain meticulous organization within our secure case management system.

What We Require

• Experience: 1+ years of professional experience in background investigations, due diligence, paralegal research, or a related analytical field. Military, law enforcement, or intelligence analysis experience is highly valued.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating strong research and analytical capabilities.
• Core Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and persistence. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote setting.
• Technical Proficiency: Reliable high-speed internet, a dedicated quiet workspace, and proficiency with standard office software (MS Office/Google Workspace). Familiarity with public records databases (e.g., TLO, Accurint, PACER) is a significant advantage.
• Integrity: Unquestionable personal and professional ethics. Must pass a thorough pre-employment background check.
• Availability: Ability to work standard business hours in a U.S. time zone, with occasional flexibility for time-sensitive interviews.
