About the Role

As a Remote Structural Engineer, you will become a pivotal member of our project delivery team, responsible for the complete structural design lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

Core Design & Analysis Duties

  • Perform comprehensive structural analysis and design for steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry systems using advanced software.
  • Develop detailed construction documents, including plans, specifications, and calculations, ensuring strict compliance with IBC, ACI, AISC, and local building codes.
  • Conduct peer reviews and value engineering analyses to optimize designs for cost, constructability, and sustainability.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and proposals to clients and project stakeholders.

Collaboration & Project Leadership

  • Serve as the structural engineering lead on multidisciplinary project teams, communicating complex concepts clearly via video conferencing and collaborative platforms like BIM 360.
  • Provide construction administration support, including submittal review, RFI responses, and site visits (occasional travel may be required for critical project phases).
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to our firm’s knowledge base and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications (Must-Have)

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in any U.S. state (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive, post-licensure experience in structural design for building projects.
  • Expert proficiency in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP2000, RISA-3D) and BIM tools (Revit).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively in a fully remote setting.

Desired Expertise (Nice-to-Have)

  • Experience with seismic design and wind load analysis per ASCE 7.
  • Background in sustainable design frameworks like LEED or net-zero structures.
  • Familiarity with construction management software like Procore or Bluebeam.
  • Prior experience working in a distributed or hybrid engineering team.
