About the Role

As a Remote Datacenter Technician, you will be the front-line expert for our hardware ecosystem. You will remotely monitor, diagnose, and guide on-site teams through complex hardware installations, repairs, and maintenance procedures for servers, storage arrays, and networking gear. Using advanced remote management tools, you will troubleshoot failures, manage firmware updates, and ensure all systems meet stringent performance and security standards. Your work directly impacts uptime for thousands of customers, making you an essential guardian of our service reliability.

Core Responsibilities

• Remotely execute hardware provisioning, decommissioning, and replacement cycles.
• Diagnose and resolve server, storage, and network component failures via remote console access and ticket management systems (e.g., iDRAC, iLO, SSH).
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for procedures, configurations, and incident reports.
• Collaborate with Network Operations Center (NOC) and engineering teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
• Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and on-call rotations as needed.
• Manage inventory and asset tracking for remote hardware deployments.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem-solver with a foundational understanding of enterprise IT hardware. You must thrive in a remote, asynchronous environment and communicate technical details clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Essential Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent military/vocational certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Server+, or equivalent experience).
• 1-3 years of hands-on experience with server hardware (Dell, HPE, Cisco UCS) and storage systems (NetApp, EMC).
• Proficient in remote management interfaces (iDRAC, iLO, IMM) and basic command-line operations (Linux/Windows).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, fiber/copper cabling).
• Excellent documentation skills and discipline to follow strict procedural checklists.
• Must be a resident of and physically located in Florida, Texas, or California for tax and compliance purposes.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools like Nlyte or Sunbird.
• Familiarity with cloud concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
• CompTIA Network+ or Security+ certification.
• Previous experience in a remote support or NOC role.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in fair and competitive compensation for critical roles. Your salary will be commensurate with experience and skill level within the following market-aligned range for a fully remote position:

Salary Range

$52,000 – $78,000 USD per year (Based on experience: Entry-level $52k-$60k, Mid-level $61k-$70k, Senior/Lead $71k-$78k)

This role is exempt (salaried). In addition to base salary, total compensation includes:
