Join an industry-leading consultancy where you can leverage your expertise in fire protection and life safety from the comfort of your home. We are seeking a visionary Fire Engineer to develop cutting-edge safety strategies for global infrastructure projects while enjoying 100% remote flexibility.

About the Role

As a Remote Fire Engineer, you will be the primary architect of safety. This isn’t just about checking boxes; it is about innovating how we protect people and property in an ever-evolving urban landscape. You will collaborate with architects, developers, and city officials to design comprehensive fire suppression systems, conduct complex smoke modeling, and ensure every project exceeds international safety codes.

In this role, you will transition away from the commute and into a high-impact digital workspace. You will utilize advanced BIM software and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools to simulate fire scenarios and optimize evacuation routes, all while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team across various time zones. Your goal is to blend rigorous engineering standards with creative problem-solving to ensure that safety is integrated into the very DNA of every building design.

Salary Range

$95,000 – $145,000 USD/year (Depending on experience and certifications)

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design & Analysis

  • Develop detailed fire protection strategies, including active and passive fire protection systems.
  • Perform advanced smoke control analysis and egress modeling using industry-standard software.
  • Conduct thorough fire risk assessments for high-rise, industrial, and commercial structures.
  • Review and approve technical specifications and blueprints to ensure compliance with NFPA and local building codes.

Consultation & Collaboration

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, providing expert guidance on life safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with structural and MEP engineers to integrate fire safety systems seamlessly into overall building designs.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations for regulatory bodies and stakeholders.

Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
  • Certification from the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) is a significant advantage.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in fire safety design or fire engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and CFD modeling software (such as FDS or Pyrosim).
  • Deep knowledge of NFPA standards and International Building Code (IBC) requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects independently in a virtual environment.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
  • A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to zero-error safety standards.
  • Self-motivated mindset with the ability to meet tight deadlines without direct supervision.

Why Join Our Team?

We believe that the best engineering happens when you have the mental space to think. By offering a 100% remote environment for Texas residents, we eliminate the stress of the daily commute, allowing you to focus on what truly matters: saving lives through superior design.

Growth & Innovation

We invest heavily in our people. You will have access to the latest software licenses, continuing education stipends, and a mentorship program that encourages you to pursue advanced certifications and stay at the forefront of fire science.

Comprehensive Benefits

  • Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance packages.

  • Flexible PTO and a culture that respects your personal time.
  • 401(k) matching to help you secure your financial future.

The Ideal Candidate

The perfect candidate is someone who is tired of the traditional office grind but refuses to compromise on the quality of their work. You are a technical expert who loves the “puzzle” of fire engineering—finding the balance between architectural beauty and absolute safety. If you are a licensed engineer who thrives in an autonomous environment and is passionate about leveraging technology to improve public safety, this is the role for you.
