Are you a licensed surveyor seeking the autonomy of remote work with the stability of high-impact projects? We are actively recruiting a talented Surveyor for a fully remote position supporting land development and engineering initiatives across Texas. This role offers a competitive salary, flexible schedule, and the chance to apply your expertise from your home office while directly contributing to the growth of the Lone Star State.

About the Role

As a Remote Surveyor, you will be a pivotal member of our geospatial and land acquisition team. You will be responsible for conducting precise boundary, topographic, and construction surveys using advanced technology and your professional judgment. This is not a field-heavy role; instead, it focuses on data analysis, plan review, legal description preparation, and providing expert guidance from a remote setting. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure all survey deliverables meet stringent Texas state regulations and our high-quality standards, all while enjoying the complete flexibility of a work-from-home arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret field data collected by our local crew chiefs and drone pilots to prepare detailed survey plats, legal descriptions, and right-of-way maps.
  • Conduct thorough research of public records, including deeds, plats, and court documents, to establish clear title and boundary lines.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of all survey computations, coordinates, and deliverables before final certification.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to field personnel via video calls, shared digital platforms, and detailed written instructions.
  • Communicate directly with clients, title companies, and government agencies to resolve complex boundary disputes and easement issues.
  • Stay current with Texas surveying laws, rules of the Texas Board of Professional Land Surveying (TBPLS), and industry best practices.

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Active, in-good-standing Texas Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in boundary and construction surveying, with at least 2 years in a lead, supervisory, or remote analysis role.
  • Expert proficiency in survey computation software (e.g., Inroads, Civil 3D, SurvPC) and GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Pro).
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and create complex legal descriptions and plats.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration and client interaction.
  • Must be a resident of Texas and able to work standard business hours in the Central Time Zone.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with drone photogrammetry and LiDAR data processing.
  • Background in large-scale commercial development, energy (oil & gas), or transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with ALTA/NSPS standards and complex commercial transaction support.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a significant advantage for client relations in Texas.

Competitive Compensation & Benefits

We offer a highly attractive salary range of $78,000 – $110,000 USD/year, commensurate with your experience, licensure, and proven track record. This is a salaried exempt position with overtime eligibility as defined by law.

Our comprehensive benefits package is designed for the remote professional and includes:

  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees.
  • 401(k) plan with a 4% company match.
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) that accrues with tenure, plus 11 company holidays.
  • Annual home office stipend of $1,000 to enhance your workspace.
  • Professional development fund for continuing education, conferences, and licensing renewal.
  • Technology package including a high-performance laptop, dual monitors, and necessary software licenses.

Why Join Our Team?
