Job Summary

NavitasPartners is looking for a Cloud Security Engineer specialised in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) to join their Edmonton team. This full‑time role offers a salary of $62,400 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain security controls for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) supporting critical BFSI applications.
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans and penetration testing in cloud environments.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards and incident‑response procedures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, dev‑ops and compliance teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide guidance and training to developers and architects on secure cloud design patterns.
• Monitor security alerts, investigate incidents and produce detailed remediation reports.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience securing cloud environments within banking, insurance, wealth management, payments or related FinTech sectors.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security services (IAM, encryption, network security, logging, WAF, CASB).
• Hands‑on experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, PCI‑DSS.
• Professional certifications preferred: CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, CISSP or equivalent.
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and security automation.
• Excellent problem‑sol{}ving skills and ability to communicate complex security concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of container security (Kubernetes, Docker) and serverless architectures.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools (Splunk, Azure Sentinel) and threat‑intelligence platforms.
• Experience in audit preparation and regulatory compliance reporting.
