About This Position

Canadian Tire Corporation is seeking a visionary Senior Manager to lead its Statistical Modelling & Advanced Analytics practice in Toronto. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced statistical and quantitative models using large‑scale retail, customer, and loyalty datasets.
  • Apply forecasting, causal inference, experimental design, segmentation, and machine‑learning techniques to solve complex business problems.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams—including merchandising, marketing, finance, and supply chain—to translate analytical insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Mentor and manage a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers, fostering a culture of rigorous experimentation and continuous learning.
  • Develop and maintain end‑to‑end analytics pipelines, ensuring data quality, reproducibility, and scalability.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders, creating clear visualisations and executive summaries.
  • Stay abreast of emerging analytics methodologies and tools, integrating best practices into the organization’s analytics framework.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in statistical modelling, predictive analytics, or data science within a retail or consumer‑focused environment.
  • Proficiency in analytical languages such as Python, R, or SAS, and experience with SQL and big‑data platforms (e.g., Spark, Snowflake).
  • Demonstrated expertise in forecasting, causal inference, A/B testing, and machine‑learning model development.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical results into clear, strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills; comfortable presenting to senior executives.
  • Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary analytics teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in retail, e‑commerce, or loyalty program analytics.
  • Familiarity with cloud‑based analytics environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Publication or conference presentations in advanced analytics or statistical methods.
