  • Prepare clear, concise investigative reports that highlight findings, risk levels, and actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain strict compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), GDPR (where applicable), and state‑specific regulations.
  • Collaborate virtually with hiring managers, compliance officers, and legal teams to resolve complex cases.
  • Continuously improve investigation processes by providing feedback on tools, workflows, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in background investigations, security screening, or related compliance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of FCRA, EEOC, and other relevant federal and state regulations.
  • Proficiency with background screening platforms (e.g., HireRight, Sterling, LexisNexis) and advanced internet research techniques.
  • Excellent written communication skills—ability to produce professional, legally sound reports.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.
  • Reliable high‑speed internet connection and a private, distraction‑free workspace.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Background Screening Professional (CBSP) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) are a plus.

Benefits

  • Fully remote work – no commute, flexible schedule, and the ability to work from any U.S. location.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance with HSA/FSA options.
  • 401(k) plan with company match up to 4% of salary.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
  • Professional development stipend for certifications, webinars, and industry conferences.
  • Performance‑based bonuses and annual salary reviews.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and mental‑health resources.
