You will have significant autonomy, managing a portfolio of bids across commercial, industrial, or civil sectors, and your recommendations will directly influence which projects we pursue and at what price.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Performing detailed quantity take-offs from blueprints, specifications, and digital models (using tools like Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or similar).
• Researching, soliciting, and analyzing quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers.
• Preparing comprehensive cost estimates, including direct costs, overhead, and profit margins.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities to enhance bid competitiveness without compromising quality.
• Creating clear, professional bid proposal documents and presentations for client submissions.
• Participating in post-bid reviews to analyze win/loss factors and refine estimating strategies.
• Maintaining and updating historical cost databases for future reference and accuracy.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on estimating experience within the commercial, industrial, or heavy civil construction industry.
• Proven proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., ProEst, HCSS, Timberline, or similar) and strong command of Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables).
• Expert ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
• In-depth knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and associated costs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
