Salary & Compensation
We offer a highly competitive annual salary of $55,000 – $75,000 USD, directly aligned with experience and proven track record in upscale or high-volume restaurant management. This role includes a quarterly performance bonus tied to profitability, guest satisfaction metrics, and staff retention goals. As a full-time remote employee, you will also receive a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, and generous paid time off.
About the Role
As our Remote Restaurant Manager, you will be the operational heartbeat of a bustling restaurant, leveraging technology to manage daily activities from a home-based office. You will directly supervise department heads (Kitchen, Front-of-House, Bar), monitor real-time operational dashboards, conduct virtual staff meetings, and ensure unwavering adherence to brand standards, food safety protocols (ServSafe), and exceptional service delivery. Your focus will be on strategic leadership, financial oversight, and cultivating a positive, high-performing team culture—all while enjoying the freedom and flexibility of a work-from-home structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Monitor daily sales, labor costs, and inventory levels via cloud-based POS and management software (e.g., Toast, Upserve). Approve schedules, manage vendor relationships, and ensure smooth service flow.
- Team Leadership & Development: Conduct virtual one-on-ones, team huddles, and training sessions. Handle hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and conflict resolution for a team of 30-50 staff members.
- Financial Management: Oversee P&L statements, budgeting, and cost-control initiatives. Implement strategies to increase revenue and reduce waste.
- Guest Experience & Brand Stewardship: Review online reviews (Yelp, Google, TripAdvisor) daily. Implement service recovery protocols and ensure every guest interaction reflects the restaurant’s premium reputation.
- Compliance & Safety: Guarantee 100% compliance with local health codes, liquor laws, and workplace safety regulations through digital checklists and remote audits.
What You Bring
You are a proven restaurant leader with a passion for hospitality and a knack for thriving in fast-paced, digital-first environments. You are self-motivated, possess exceptional communication skills for virtual leadership, and are adept at using technology to solve problems and drive results.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum 5 years of restaurant management experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role (e.g., Assistant Manager, General Manager) in a full-service, high-volume restaurant.
- Demonstrated proficiency with restaurant management software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace suite.
- Unwavering commitment to food safety (ServSafe certification required).
- Excellent remote communication skills: clear, concise, and empathetic over video calls, Slack, and email.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends for peak service oversight and virtual team events.
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing multiple locations or a large, fine-dining establishment.
- Background in implementing new technology or operational systems.
- Formal training in coaching, conflict resolution, or leadership development.
