Launch your nursing career into the future with a fully remote Medical/Surgical RN role. You will provide compassionate, expert patient assessment, care coordination, and health education to adults with complex medical conditions, all from your dedicated home office. This is a unique chance to leverage your clinical skills in a telehealth environment, making a tangible difference in patients’ lives without a commute.

About the Role

As a Remote Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse, you will be a pivotal member of our clinical telehealth team. You will manage a caseload of patients recovering from surgery or managing chronic medical conditions, conducting comprehensive virtual assessments, developing and monitoring care plans, and collaborating with physicians, case managers, and family caregivers. Your expertise ensures safe transitions of care, reduces hospital readmissions, and promotes optimal health outcomes in a home-based setting. This is not a simple call center role; it is a high-touch, clinical nursing position requiring critical thinking and advanced communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth virtual health assessments via secure video platforms, including review of systems, vital signs (using patient-provided data or connected devices), and symptom evaluation.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans for patients with post-operative, medical, and surgical needs.
  • Provide expert patient and family education on disease processes, medication management, wound care, activity restrictions, and warning signs.
  • Coordinate care across the continuum, facilitating communication between patients, primary care providers, specialists, and home health agencies.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient interactions accurately and promptly within our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Identify and escalate urgent or emergent patient situations to the appropriate clinical team members immediately.
  • Adhere strictly to telehealth nursing protocols, state licensing regulations, and HIPAA compliance standards.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of primary residence. Must be eligible for multi-state licensure under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) or willing to obtain licenses in our operational states.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent, direct patient care experience in a Medical/Surgical, Step-Down, or Acute Care hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new telehealth and EHR software quickly.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection (>25 Mbps), a quiet, private home workspace, and a dedicated computer meeting our security specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and empathetically.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN) or a related specialty.
  • Previous experience in a telehealth, virtual care, or case management role.
  • Familiarity with remote patient monitoring (RPM) devices and digital health platforms.
  • Strong understanding of population health management and chronic disease principles.

Salary Range

We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $52,000 – $78,000 USD per year. Final compensation will be determined based on your relevant skills, years of experience, and geographic location. This role is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.
