<a href="https://wehired.agency/jobs/" style="color:var(--primary-color); font-weight:600;">Remote</a> Data Scientist: Transform Data into Business-Building Insights

Join our fully remote team as a Data Scientist. You’ll build predictive models and analyze complex datasets to drive strategic decisions and fuel company growth. Perfect for a Python expert who loves solving big problems.

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Data Scientist to join our 100% remote team. In this pivotal role, you will move beyond reporting to build sophisticated machine learning models and conduct deep-dive analyses that directly influence product strategy and revenue growth. If you thrive on cleaning messy data, uncovering hidden patterns, and presenting actionable findings to non-technical leaders, this is your opportunity to make a tangible impact from anywhere.

About the Role

As a core member of our remote analytics team, you will own projects from data extraction to model deployment. You’ll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to define key business questions and then architect data pipelines and statistical models to answer them. Your work will empower leadership with forecasts, segmentation strategies, and a clear understanding of our user journey. This is a hands-on position where your code and insights will be integrated into our core products and dashboards.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and validate machine learning models (e.g., recommendation systems, churn prediction, NLP classifiers).
  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using SQL and Python (Pandas, PySpark) to process large datasets.
  • Conduct A/B test analysis and causal inference studies to measure the impact of new features and campaigns.
  • Create clear, compelling visualizations and executive summaries using tools like Tableau, Looker, or Python libraries (Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  • Write clean, production-ready code and document your methodologies for team knowledge sharing.
  • Stay current with the latest data science techniques and propose innovative solutions to business challenges.

What We’re Looking For (Requirements)

We need a curious problem-solver with a strong statistical foundation and a pragmatic approach to shipping models. You must be self-motivated and excel in a asynchronous, remote environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience in a data science, analytics, or quantitative analysis role.
  • Expert proficiency in Python for data analysis and modeling (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn).
  • Strong command of SQL for complex querying and database optimization.
  • Proven experience with machine learning lifecycle: feature engineering, model selection, evaluation, and basic deployment concepts.
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods (regression, hypothesis testing, Bayesian thinking).
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to translate technical results into business recommendations for diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field. Master’s or PhD is a strong plus.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS SageMaker, GCP AI Platform, Azure ML) and big data tools (Spark, Databricks).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for MLOps.
  • Background in A/B testing experimentation platforms and causal inference frameworks.
  • Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for specific use cases.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in fair, transparent, and competitive compensation. The final salary offer will be based on your experience, skill level, and geographic market, but for this remote position, the estimated base salary range is:

Salary Range: $110,000 – $160,000 USD/year

This role is also eligible for a performance-based annual bonus and a long-term equity package, aligning your success with the company’s.

Our Remote-First Perks & Benefits

  • True Flexibility: Work from anywhere in the world. We focus on output, not hours.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents.
  • Financial Security: 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, and a robust equity plan.
  • Unlimited PTO: Take the time you need to recharge, with a minimum annual vacation requirement.
  • Learning Budget: $2,000 annually for courses, conferences, books, and certifications.
  • Home Office Stipend: $1,000 to set up your ergonomic workspace.
  • Team Connection: Quarterly virtual team-building events and an annual all-company offsite (location varies!).

How to Succeed Here

We value intellectual humility, direct feedback, and a bias towards action. The ideal candidate will be proactive in seeking out ambiguous problems, comfortable with iterative experimentation, and passionate about using data to tell a story. You will have the autonomy to explore new techniques but the support of a collaborative, knowledgeable team. If you want to build products, not just reports, and see your models directly affect millions of users, you’ll thrive here.

We are an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We cannot sponsor visas for this role at this time.
