About the Role

Join a pioneering engineering firm at the forefront of renewable energy innovation. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will own the full lifecycle of electrical system design for large-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects. You will transition concepts into detailed, manufacturable designs, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance with international standards. This role is deeply technical and strategic, requiring you to balance innovation with practical constraints like cost, scalability, and grid integration. You will be a key technical authority, shaping our engineering methodologies and mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, simulation, and validation of complex electrical systems, including power distribution, protection, and control systems for utility-scale renewable projects.
• Develop detailed schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using industry-standard tools like Altium Designer and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Perform comprehensive load flow, short-circuit, and coordination studies using ETAP or similar software to ensure system integrity and safety.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, civil, and software engineering teams to deliver fully integrated, turnkey project solutions.
• Drive technical documentation, create design specifications, and prepare detailed reports for clients and regulatory bodies.
• Provide technical guidance and code reviews for junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
• Travel occasionally (less than 10%) for critical project milestones, client meetings, or site commissioning support.

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in electrical power systems design, preferably within the renewable energy sector (solar, wind, storage).
• Expert proficiency in electrical design software (Altium, AutoCAD Electrical) and power systems analysis tools (ETAP, SKM PowerTools).
• Deep understanding of NEC, IEEE, UL, and IEC standards, with proven experience in designing for code compliance.
• Proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary engineering projects from concept through to construction and commissioning.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Attributes

• Direct experience with grid interconnection studies and utility coordination.
• Familiarity with battery energy storage system (BESS) integration and inverter technologies.
• Project management certification (PMP) or demonstrated leadership in agile project environments.
• Experience with SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3).

Salary Range

We are committed to fair and transparent compensation. For this role, the anticipated base salary range is $110,000 – $160,000 USD per year. The final offer will be determined based on your unique experience, technical expertise, and the scope of impact you will have within our engineering team. This range does not include our bonus potential, equity grants, or the significant value of our benefits package.
