About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and implementation of fire protection systems for commercial, industrial, and high‑rise residential projects. As a remote team member, you will work closely with project managers, architects, and code officials to ensure compliance with NFPA, IBC, and local Texas fire codes while delivering innovative, cost‑effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fire hazard analyses and develop comprehensive fire protection designs using industry‑standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and FDS.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for client approval and permitting processes.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire safety systems with electrical, HVAC, and structural elements.
• Conduct virtual site inspections and provide remote guidance to field crews during installation and testing phases.
• Maintain current knowledge of evolving fire safety standards, building codes, and emerging technologies.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or eligibility for licensure within six months of hire.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire protection design, preferably within a consulting or engineering firm.
• Proficiency in fire modeling tools (e.g., FDS, PyroSim) and CAD/BIM software.
• Strong understanding of NFPA codes, IBC, and Texas fire regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and report preparation.
