About the Role

Horizon Construction Group is seeking a detail‑oriented Estimator to join our remote workforce. In this position, you will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to produce accurate cost forecasts for commercial, residential, and civil infrastructure initiatives. Your analyses will directly influence bid decisions, client negotiations, and overall project profitability, making your contribution essential to the company’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties

• Collect and review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, labor and material pricing, and risk assessments using industry‑standard software.
• Prepare detailed bid packages and present findings to senior leadership and clients.
• Maintain a database of historical cost data and update pricing models as market conditions evolve.
• Coordinate with procurement and project controls teams to ensure estimate accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, with at least three years of hands‑on estimating experience in the construction sector. Proficiency with estimating software such as ProEst, Sage Estimating, or PlanSwift is essential, as is a strong grasp of blueprint reading and construction methods. Excellent analytical abilities, clear communication skills, and a proven track record of meeting tight deadlines are non‑negotiable.

Preferred Experience

Experience working on large‑scale commercial developments, infrastructure projects, or specialty trades is highly valued. Familiarity with cost‑plus and design‑build contract models, as well as knowledge of regional building codes and permitting processes, will set successful applicants apart.

Salary Range

We offer a transparent salary range of $58,000 to $78,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, employees enjoy performance bonuses, a 401(k) match, and tuition reimbursement for professional certifications.
