Join a leading engineering consultancy that delivers innovative fire protection designs for projects spanning six continents, from iconic skyscrapers to massive manufacturing facilities. This fully remote position allows you to apply your expertise from any location while contributing to safety solutions that protect lives, assets, and the environment on a worldwide scale.

About the Role

At GlobalFire Engineering, you will work directly with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to embed fire safety strategies into every phase of development. Your designs will not only satisfy stringent regulatory requirements but also incorporate performance‑based engineering concepts that optimize cost and efficiency. You will lead the creation of sprinkler layouts, smoke control systems, fire alarm specifications, and egress protection plans, ensuring each solution is both compliant and tailored to the client’s unique needs. In addition, you will conduct detailed hazard assessments, prepare comprehensive technical reports, and present findings to stakeholders across diverse industries, translating complex engineering data into clear, actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed fire protection schematics and 3D models using AutoCAD, Revit, and specialized fire dynamics software such as Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS).
  • Perform comprehensive fire hazard analyses, including smoke spread modeling, thermal analysis, and occupant evacuation analysis, to recommend robust mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in North America, Europe, and Asia, providing timely feedback and ensuring design integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review construction documents and conduct virtual site inspections to verify that installed systems align precisely with design intent and code requirements.
  • Prepare technical specifications, calculation reports, and client presentation decks that clearly communicate engineering solutions to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Maintain a continuous knowledge base of evolving fire codes, industry publications, and emerging technologies, integrating best practices into all deliverables.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposal writing, cost estimating, and client relationship management.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience designing fire safety systems for commercial, industrial, or institutional projects, with at least one project involving high‑rise or large‑scale facilities.
  • Proficiency with fire modeling tools (e.g., FDS), CAD platforms (AutoCAD, Revit), and Microsoft Office Suite for report generation and presentations.
  • In‑depth knowledge of NFPA codes, International Building Code (IBC), and ISO fire safety standards, and the ability to apply them creatively to complex challenges.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and prepare clear, concise documentation.
  • Strong self‑discipline and the capability to manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting tight deadlines in a fully remote environment.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or equivalent are highly preferred.

Benefits

  • A competitive salary band of $55,000 to $75,000 USD per year, reflecting experience, certifications, and market benchmarks.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans that cover employees and eligible dependents.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with company matching and flexible contribution options.
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation days, sick leave, and all public holidays, to support a healthy work‑life balance.
  • Professional development stipend for certifications, conference attendance, and continuing education courses.
  • Fully remote work setup with a monthly home‑office allowance, high‑speed internet reimbursement, and ergonomic equipment support.
  • An inclusive, collaborative virtual culture that encourages mentorship, innovation, and employee well‑being through regular virtual team‑building activities.

Our compensation package for the Remote Fire Engineer position ranges from $55,000 to $75,000 USD annually, aligned with industry standards and the value you bring to global fire safety projects. This range includes base salary, performance bonuses, and the full suite of benefits outlined above.
