Recent Activity
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Engineer to lead innovative design projects for next‑generation renewable energy systems. Working fully remote, you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams across the globe to develop robust, efficient electrical solutions that drive sustainability forward. Bring your expertise to a mission‑driven company where your ideas directly impact clean‑energy adoption worldwide.
About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will own the end‑to‑end electrical design lifecycle—from concept and schematic capture to prototyping, testing, and production release. You will mentor junior engineers, ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, IEEE, UL), and translate complex technical requirements into reliable, cost‑effective hardware. Your work will support solar inverters, energy storage systems, and smart grid technologies that power communities worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical architecture design for renewable energy products, including power electronics, control circuits, and wiring harnesses.
- Create detailed schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs using Altium Designer or similar ECAD tools.
- Perform circuit simulation (SPICE, PSpice) and thermal analysis to validate performance under various operating conditions.
- Coordinate with mechanical, firmware, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration.
- Oversee prototype build, conduct design verification testing (DVT), and drive failure analysis.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Maintain documentation per ISO 9001 and prepare design review packages for stakeholders.
- Stay current with emerging technologies (SiC, GaN, wide‑bandgap semiconductors) and recommend adoption strategies.
Requirements
Must‑Have
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field; 8+ years of hands‑on experience in power electronics design.
- Proficiency with ECAD tools (Altium, Cadence, or KiCad) and solid understanding of high‑speed digital and analog design.
- Strong background in SMPS, DC‑DC converters, inverters, and motor drives.
- Experience with simulation tools (LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink) and hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing.
- Familiarity with safety and compliance standards (IEC 62109, UL 1741, IEC 61850).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, able to debug complex board‑level issues.
- Proven track record of leading projects from concept to volume production.
- Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting technical concepts to multidisciplinary audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment.
Nice‑to‑Have
- Experience with renewable energy applications (solar PV, wind, battery storage).
- Knowledge of firmware‑hardware interface and basic C/C++ for microcontroller programming.
- Familiarity with automotive‑grade qualifications (AEC‑Q100/Q200).
- Certifications such as PE, PMP, or Six Sigma Green Belt.
- Exposure to PCB fabrication processes and supply chain management.
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $110,000 – $140,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience.
- 100% remote work – flexible hours and home office stipend.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Generous paid time off and company holidays.
- Professional development budget for courses, certifications, and conferences.
- Equity/stock options in a fast‑growing clean‑tech startup.
- Wellness programs, including mental health resources and virtual fitness classes.
- Collaborative culture with regular virtual team‑building events and hackathons.
