Lead transformative healthcare initiatives from the comfort of your home office. We are seeking a dynamic Medical and Health Services Manager to oversee clinical operations, optimize patient care pathways, and drive strategic improvements for a multi-specialty health network. This fully remote role offers unparalleled flexibility for an experienced professional ready to make a significant impact on healthcare delivery and quality without ever needing to commute.

About the Role & Impact

In this critical remote position, you will serve as the operational and strategic backbone for a designated portfolio of clinical services. Your mission is to enhance efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of excellence that directly improves patient outcomes and staff satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nursing leaders, and administrative teams across various locations, using data-driven insights to solve complex challenges in healthcare management. This is not a desk-bound reporting job; it’s a hands-on leadership role where your decisions directly shape the quality and accessibility of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of assigned clinical departments, including budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet productivity and quality goals.
  • Quality & Compliance: Lead initiatives to improve patient safety, clinical quality metrics (e.g., HCAHPS, readmission rates), and ensure strict adherence to CMS, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement service line strategies, new program launches, and process improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma) to increase capacity and patient satisfaction.
  • Financial Acumen: Oversee departmental P&L, manage contracts with vendors, analyze financial reports, and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue cycle optimization.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and evaluate clinical and administrative staff. Facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings and conflict resolution to promote a cohesive, high-performance culture.
  • Data & Technology: Utilize EHR data (Epic, Cerner, etc.) and business intelligence tools to generate reports, track KPIs, and present findings to senior leadership.

What We’re Looking For (Requirements)

The ideal candidate is a seasoned healthcare leader with a proven track record in managing complex clinical operations in a remote or hybrid setting.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing (BSN), or a related field. Master’s degree (MHA, MBA, MSN) is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive management experience in a hospital, health system, large medical group, or ambulatory care setting.
  • Demonstrated success in managing departmental budgets (typically $2M+), P&L responsibility, and improving clinical quality/operational efficiency metrics.
  • Expert knowledge of healthcare regulations (Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA, OSHA) and experience with survey preparation.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, and presentation software.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and remote collaboration skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Current nursing license (RN) or clinical background is a significant plus.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with telemedicine/telehealth program management.
  • Familiarity with value-based care models and population health management.
