About the Role

Your work will directly contribute to reducing clinician burnout, improving diagnostic accuracy, and safeguarding sensitive patient information. Key Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, practice management software, and other critical clinical applications.
• Act as a liaison between clinical staff and software vendors, translating clinical needs into clear technical requirements and troubleshooting steps.
• Manage user accounts, access controls, and security protocols in accordance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
• Participate in the implementation, upgrade, and optimization of health IT systems, including testing and training coordination.
• Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to enhance user experience and system reliability.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of support tickets, system configurations, and procedural guides.
• On-call rotation for critical system issues may be required periodically.

What You Bring (Requirements)

We need a proactive communicator with a deep understanding of the healthcare technology landscape. The ideal candidate is as comfortable discussing clinical workflows as they are with network diagnostics.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in a Health IT, healthcare systems support, or EHR administration role.
• Proven experience with at least one major EHR platform (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth).
• Strong foundational knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, and information security principles.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and customer service skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN), Windows/Linux server administration, and database querying (SQL basics).

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

• Certifications such as RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), or vendor-specific EHR certifications.
• Experience with healthcare data exchange standards (HL7, FHIR) and interfaces.
• Project management experience, particularly with software implementations or system upgrades.
• Background in a clinical setting (nurse, medical assistant, etc.) is a significant advantage.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in fair and competitive compensation for critical work. For this Remote Health IT Specialist position, we offer an estimated salary range of $65,000 – $95,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience and certifications. This is a full-time, exempt position.
