<a href="https://wehired.agency/jobs/" style="color:var(--primary-color); font-weight:600;">Remote</a> Attorney Job – Shape the Future of Legal Tech from Anywhere

We are a fast-growing legal technology company on a mission to democratize access to justice through smart, user-friendly software. We are seeking a proactive and tech-savvy attorney to join our product and client success team in a fully remote capacity. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your legal expertise to build groundbreaking tools that empower legal professionals and their clients, all from the comfort of your home office.

About the Role

As a Remote Attorney at Apex Legal Technologies, you will serve as the critical bridge between our engineering team and the real-world legal challenges our software solves. You will analyze complex legal workflows, identify opportunities for automation and improvement, and directly shape the roadmap for our flagship practice management platform. This is not a traditional doc-review or litigation role; it is a product-centric position where your legal acumen directly influences software design, compliance, and user experience. You will collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and developers in a fully distributed team, contributing to a culture of innovation that is redefining how legal services are delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct deep-dive legal research to inform product feature development and ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., data privacy, ethics rules, jurisdiction-specific laws).
  • Create and maintain clear, accurate legal help content, knowledge base articles, and in-app guidance for our users.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for the product team, translating user pain points and legal procedures into actionable technical requirements.
  • Review and provide feedback on software design mockups and user stories from a legal practice and risk-management perspective.
  • Partner with customer success to develop training materials and webinars, helping law firms maximize their use of our technology.
  • Stay ahead of legal industry trends and emerging technologies to anticipate future product needs.

What You Bring

We need a strategic thinker who is as comfortable with legal doctrine as they are with digital collaboration tools. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in an asynchronous remote environment and is passionate about the intersection of law and technology.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Active membership in good standing with any U.S. state bar.
  • 3+ years of hands-on legal experience, preferably in a law firm setting (transactional, litigation, or corporate experience is valuable).
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new legal concepts and software platforms.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for explaining complex legal topics in simple, accessible language.
  • Proven proficiency with core practice management, document management, and e-discovery tools (e.g., Clio, MyCase, Relativity, or similar).
  • A reliable home office setup with a high-speed internet connection.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in legal tech, legal operations, or a process improvement role.
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum development methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of software development life cycles and API concepts.
  • Experience creating user documentation or conducting legal training.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in fair and transparent compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000 – $135,000 USD annually, commensurate with experience and expertise. This is a full-time, exempt role.

Our Comprehensive Remote-First Benefits Package Includes:

  • Health & Wellness: 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents.
  • Financial Security: 401(k) plan with a 4% company match, and an annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
  • True Flexibility: Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) with a recommended minimum of 3 weeks. Flexible hours within a core collaboration window (10 AM – 4 PM Eastern).
  • Remote Work Stipend: A generous annual budget to optimize your home office—whether for ergonomic furniture, tech upgrades, or high-speed internet.
  • Professional Growth: $2,000 annual stipend for CLE courses, conferences, certifications, or books.
  • Connect & Belong: Annual company-wide in-person retreat, co-working space access stipend, and a culture that values asynchronous communication and deep work.

How We Work (Remotely)

Apex Legal Technologies is built for remote work from the ground up. We prioritize outcomes over hours and trust our team to manage their time effectively. Our core collaboration hours ensure we can connect in real-time when needed, but the majority of work is asynchronous, allowing you to design your ideal workday. We use a suite of tools like Slack, Zoom, Notion, and Jira to stay connected and organized. We are an equal-opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team where everyone can do their best work, regardless of location.
