About the Role

As a Remote Electrical Designer, you will be integral to our engineering team, responsible for developing comprehensive electrical designs from initial concept through construction. You will collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines via digital platforms to deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant systems. Key Responsibilities

• Design and draft electrical plans for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop studies.
• Prepare detailed technical specifications, material take-offs, and construction cost estimates.
• Ensure all designs comply with the latest National Electrical Code (NEC), IBC, and local jurisdictional standards.
• Review contractor submittals and provide responsive RFI (Request for Information) support during construction phases.
• Participate in virtual design meetings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and a proven ability to execute designs independently.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 3+ years of professional experience in electrical design for building systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP is mandatory.
• Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple project deadlines in a home-office environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Experience with renewable energy systems (solar PV, battery storage) or data center design.
• Familiarity with electrical analysis software like ETAP or SKM PowerTools.
• Prior experience in a fully remote or hybrid engineering role.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package to attract top-tier talent. This is a full-time exempt position with an estimated salary range of $75,000 – $95,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience and technical expertise. Bonus potential may be available based on company and individual performance.
