About the Role

As a Direct Support Professional at our San Francisco facility, you will be the cornerstone of support for individuals with developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility is to assist clients with daily living activities, promote independence, and foster social inclusion. You’ll work closely with a team to implement personalized support plans, ensuring safety, dignity, and respect for everyone you serve. Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Facilitate community integration through outings, social activities, and skill-building exercises.
• Observe and document client progress, behaviors, and needs accurately and consistently.
• Collaborate with team members, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all clients and staff.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in human services preferred.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others thrive.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required for some roles).
• Completion of mandatory training in CPR/First Aid and Positive Behavior Support (training provided).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Certification in Direct Support Professional (DSP) or similar credential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
