About the Role

As a Personal Care Aide, you will become a vital part of a client’s daily routine and well-being. You will work in the client’s private residence, providing personalized care that promotes safety, comfort, and engagement. Your responsibilities will be tailored to each client’s unique care plan, which may evolve over time. We provide full training and ongoing support from our clinical team, ensuring you feel confident and prepared for every shift. Core Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Provide mobility support, including transfers and ambulation, ensuring client safety.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks related to the client’s care (e.g., laundry, tidying living areas).
• Remind clients about medications (note: you will not administer medications unless state-certified and assigned).
• Provide companionship, engage in conversation, and accompany clients to appointments or outings.
• Observe and accurately report changes in the client’s condition, mood, or behavior to our office.
• Respect client privacy, confidentiality, and personal preferences at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Criteria

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
• Physical ability to assist clients with mobility, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, patient demeanor.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in personal care, home health, or a related field (new graduates from certified programs are encouraged to apply).

Preferred Attributes

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification.
• Experience with dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
• Fluency in a second language common in the Chicago area (e.g., Spanish, Polish, Mandarin).
