About the Role

In this full-time outpatient role, you will manage a diverse caseload within our state-of-the-art rehabilitation clinic, serving patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, neurological conditions, and chronic pain syndromes. Your day will blend sophisticated manual therapy, therapeutic exercise prescription, and advanced modality use, all within a low patient-to-therapist ratio that allows for deep, personalized attention. You will operate within a deeply collaborative model, working side-by-side with referring physicians, occupational therapists, and athletic trainers to create seamless, holistic care pathways. This position offers a predictable, daytime schedule with minimal on-call responsibilities, promoting a sustainable work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

Comprehensive Evaluation & Diagnosis

Conduct initial patient assessments using standardized functional measures, manual muscle testing, and gait analysis to establish accurate diagnoses and prognosis. You will translate these findings into clear, goal-oriented treatment plans that align with physician orders and patient aspirations.

Expert Intervention & Progression

Administer a full spectrum of evidence-based interventions, including joint and soft tissue mobilization, therapeutic exercise progression, neuromuscular re-education, and pain-modulating modalities. You will meticulously document all care in our electronic health record, ensuring legal compliance and facilitating clear communication across the care team.

Patient Education & Discharge Planning

Empower patients through education on home exercise programs, body mechanics, and injury prevention. You will confidently determine discharge readiness, providing thorough summaries and recommendations for long-term health maintenance to ensure lasting success beyond the clinic walls.

Requirements

We require a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution and an active Illinois Physical Therapy license (or license-eligible status). Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in an outpatient orthopedic or sports medicine setting. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for educating patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency with EMR systems and current BLS certification are mandatory. Additional certifications like OCS (Orthopedic Clinical Specialist) or SCS (Sports Clinical Specialist) are highly valued.

Salary & Compensation

Northside Medical Center offers a highly competitive salary range of $75,000 – $95,000 USD per year, determined by your years of experience, clinical specialization, and proven outcomes.
