About the Role

As an Estimator at our Chicago-based construction firm, you’ll play a crucial role in our pre-construction process. You’ll analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine project costs, materials, labor requirements, and timelines. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects ranging from commercial buildings to residential developments, ensuring each is financially viable from conception.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, construction specifications, and bid documents
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, equipment, and labor
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
• Prepare bid proposals and participate in client presentations
• Track project costs and estimate accuracy

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in construction estimating
• Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and equipment
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
