About the Role

Tech Innovations Inc. in Austin, Texas, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Datacenter Technician to join our dedicated facilities team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our datacenter equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and performance for our critical systems. You’ll work hands-on with servers, storage arrays, network switches, and cooling systems within our modern, secure facilities, directly contributing to the stability and efficiency of our technological backbone.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on datacenter hardware (servers, storage, network gear, power distribution units, cooling systems).

Troubleshoot hardware failures and network connectivity issues promptly and effectively.

Install, configure, and test new servers, storage solutions, and network equipment.

Monitor datacenter environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, air flow) and power usage.
*

Perform physical inventory of datacenter assets and manage asset tagging.
*

Adhere strictly to safety protocols and datacenter security procedures.
*

Collaborate with IT and facilities teams to coordinate moves, adds, and changes (MACs).
*

Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory updates accurately.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in IT, Electronics, or a related field preferred.
*

Proven experience (2+ years) working in a datacenter, server room, or similar IT infrastructure environment.

Strong hands-on skills with server hardware (e.g., Dell, HP, Lenovo), storage systems, and network equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
*

Experience with KVM switches, UPS systems, and environmental monitoring tools.
*

Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
*

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
*

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
