About the Role

As a Health IT Specialist, you will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust health information technology systems. Your core responsibilities will include configuring and troubleshooting EHR platforms like Epic or Cerner, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and GDPR. You’ll collaborate closely with clinical staff, physicians, and other IT professionals to identify system enhancements, resolve technical issues, and provide critical support. Key Responsibilities

• Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot electronic health record (EHR) systems and related clinical applications.
• Implement and enforce stringent data security protocols, including access controls, encryption, and audit logging.
• Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant regulations.
• Provide end-user support, training, and documentation for healthcare staff using health IT systems.

Requirements

Ideal candidates will possess a blend of technical proficiency and healthcare domain knowledge:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience (2+ years) working with major EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
• Certifications such as CISA, CISM, RHIA, or RHIT are highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT) and clinical workflow processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
