About the Role

The Opportunity

This isn’t a typical executive role. You will be the founding CEO of “Orbit,” our next breakthrough venture within the Nexus Innovations studio. We’ve validated the market, secured initial seed funding, and built a prototype for an AI platform that optimizes water usage and crop yields for mid-sized farms. Your mission is to transform this potential into a category-defining business. You will operate with the resources of a established incubator but the freedom and ownership of a true startup founder. This is a fully remote, location-independent role, reporting directly to the Nexus Founding Partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Vision & Strategy: Craft and communicate the compelling long-term vision, setting the strategic direction for product, market, and growth.
• Zero-to-One Execution: Build the initial team (first 10 hires), establish core operations, and drive the venture from prototype to product-market fit.
• Fundraising & Capital Allocation: Lead the next funding round (Series A) and manage the venture’s burn rate with extreme fiduciary responsibility.
• Customer & Market Obsession: Become the primary voice of the customer, deeply understanding farm operations to guide product development.
• Culture Architect: Embed a culture of resilience, data-driven decision-making, and mission-focused impact from the very first hire.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

• Proven Founder or Early-Stage CEO Track Record: You have taken a venture from ideation to early traction. A previous exit or significant scaling experience is a major plus.
• Deep Domain Expertise: 8+ years in AgTech, IoT, enterprise SaaS, or a deeply technical field. You speak the language of farmers, engineers, and investors.
• Fundraising Prowess: Demonstrated ability to pitch, negotiate, and close institutional venture capital.
• Team Building: A history of recruiting and inspiring exceptional talent in competitive markets, often with limited resources.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary & Equity

We offer a meaningful stake in the outcome. The compensation package is designed to align your success directly with the venture’s success.

• Base Salary: $70,000 – $110,000 USD/year (commensurate with experience and stage).
• Founder’s Equity: A significant, pre-option pool equity grant (5-10%) in the Orbit venture. This is not a standard employee option; it is true founder-level ownership subject to a standard vesting schedule.
