We are seeking a meticulous and licensed Surveyor to play a pivotal role in the successful development of residential, commercial, and civil engineering projects across the Front Range. In this position, you will transform plans into physical reality, providing the accurate boundary and topographic data that is the non-negotiable first step for any construction or land transaction. If you have a passion for technology, an unwavering commitment to accuracy, and thrive in both field and office environments, this is your opportunity to make a tangible, lasting impact.

Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 – $75,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience, licensure (PLS preferred), and project responsibility. Includes eligibility for overtime and project bonuses.

About the Role: Where Data Meets the Earth

As a Surveyor, you will be the essential truth-teller of the land. You will lead and execute precise surveying assignments from initial boundary surveys to complex construction layouts. Using state-of-the-art GPS (GNSS), total stations, and drone (UAS) technology, you will collect, process, and interpret spatial data. Your work directly informs engineers, architects, and developers, preventing costly errors and ensuring legal compliance. You will manage projects from proposal through final deliverable, maintaining the highest standards of professional ethics and accuracy as outlined by the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS).

Core Daily Responsibilities:

  • Perform boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking.
  • Operate and maintain advanced surveying equipment including GNSS rovers, total stations, and data collectors.
  • Process field data using industry-standard software like Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or similar.
  • Research historical records, deeds, and plats at county clerk offices to establish property lines.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and legally defensible plats, maps, and reports for clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Adhere strictly to all state licensing regulations and professional standards.
  • Mentor and guide field technicians on proper procedures and safety protocols.

What You Bring: The Profile of a Master Measurer

We need a professional who blends technical prowess with practical problem-solving. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or a Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) actively working toward licensure.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Licensure: Current, active Colorado Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is strongly preferred. Candidates with a valid SIT certificate and 3+ years of progressive surveying experience will be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in land surveying, with a strong portfolio in boundary and construction surveying.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with GNSS (RTK/PPK) and total station surveying. Expert-level skill in at least one major surveying/CAD software suite (e.g., Autodesk Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Leica Infinity).
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of Colorado surveying laws, the Public Land Survey System (PLSS), and metes-and-bounds descriptions.
  • Personal Attributes: Uncompromising attention to detail, exceptional spatial reasoning, and a methodical approach to complex problems. Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
