About the Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of our design team. You'll lead the structural design, analysis, and coordination of projects ranging from high-rise commercial towers to significant transportation infrastructure. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring designs are not only innovative and efficient but also safe, compliant with all relevant codes (AISC, ACI, ASCE 7), and constructible. You'll mentor junior engineers, foster collaboration across disciplines, and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design process for complex projects from inception through construction documentation.
- Perform detailed structural analysis (steel, concrete, timber) using industry-standard software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, Revit Structure).
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to ensure structural integrity and constructability.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Conduct site inspections and manage construction-related structural issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical proposals and presentations.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience as a Structural Engineer.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in New York State or ability to obtain promptly.
- Proven expertise in designing steel and concrete structures for commercial, institutional, and infrastructure projects.
- Advanced proficiency in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP2000, Revit Structure).
- Strong understanding of building codes (AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, NYC Building Code).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Desired Qualifications
- Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Experience with BIM workflows and coordination.
- Knowledge of seismic design principles.
- Experience with complex foundation systems.
