About the Role

You are not just an IT manager; you are a business technology leader. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will own the entire technology ecosystem that powers our core operations and customer-facing platforms. This is a hands-on strategic position where your decisions on cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and software development will have a measurable, multi-million dollar impact on our bottom line. Your Core Mission:

  • Strategic Technology Leadership: Develop and execute a 3-year IT strategy aligned with aggressive growth targets, M&A activity, and market expansion.
  • Team Builder & Culture Driver: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performance team of 15+ engineers, analysts, and specialists. Foster a culture of continuous learning, operational excellence, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Business Partner & Innovator: Act as the primary technology advisor to non-technical executives. Proactively identify opportunities where technology can create new revenue streams, optimize customer experience, or disrupt market inefficiencies.
  • Guardian of Security & Compliance: Ensure unwavering data integrity, system uptime (99.99%+), and compliance with industry standards (SOC 2, GDPR, etc.) in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Define the enterprise architecture, evaluating and integrating new technologies (AI/ML, IoT, advanced analytics) to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Manage the multi-million dollar technology budget with a sharp focus on ROI, cost optimization, and strategic investment.
  • Lead vendor selection, contract negotiations, and management of critical strategic partnerships with major cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP) and SaaS vendors.

Operations & Execution

  • Oversee all network operations, data center management (or cloud equivalents), and IT service delivery to ensure seamless business continuity.
  • Champion DevOps/Agile methodologies to accelerate product development cycles and improve deployment frequency.
  • Drive major implementation projects from conception to launch, including ERP/CRM upgrades, migration to cloud-native architectures, and legacy system modernization.

What We Require (The Non-Negotiables)

  • Proven Experience: 8+ years in progressive IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years managing teams and budgets in a complex, scaling business environment (SaaS, FinTech, E-commerce, or similar high-growth sector preferred).
  • Technical Fluency: Deep, current knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS certified a huge plus), cybersecurity frameworks, networking, and enterprise software. You can read an architecture diagram and debate trade-offs with your senior engineers.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to speak the language of P&L, customer acquisition cost, and lifetime value. Experience presenting to a board of directors or C-suite.
  • Leadership Presence: A track record of attracting, retaining, and developing top technical talent. Exceptional communication skills to translate technical complexity into clear business risks and opportunities.

Desired Accelerators

  • MBA or advanced technical degree.
  • Direct experience with PCI-DSS compliance or other stringent regulatory environments.
  • Proven success in a Series B+ funded startup or a division within a large corporation undergoing digital transformation.
  • Background in building or managing data analytics or machine learning pipelines.
