Salary Range

Based on current industry standards for remote IT Manager roles in the US and Canada, this position offers a competitive annual salary of $115,000 – $145,000 USD, with adjustments for relevant experience, certifications, and leadership track record. Top performers are also eligible for annual performance-based bonuses of up to 15% of base salary.

About the Role

At NexusTech Solutions, our IT team is the backbone of our operations, supporting 200+ remote employees across 3 continents. As our Remote IT Manager, you will oversee all day-to-day IT operations, including cloud infrastructure management, endpoint security, software procurement, and help desk support. You will lead a team of 6 IT specialists, set departmental goals aligned with company growth targets, and serve as the primary liaison between the IT department and executive leadership. We prioritize work-life balance, so you’ll never be expected to be on-call outside of agreed core hours unless a critical outage occurs.

Your core responsibilities will include designing scalable IT policies for our distributed workforce, managing our AWS-hosted infrastructure, conducting regular security audits, and evaluating new SaaS tools to boost team productivity. You will also lead incident response for critical outages, manage vendor relationships with key tech partners, and oversee IT onboarding for new hires globally. This is a 100% remote role with full flexibility to work from any US or Canada-based location.

Requirements

Technical Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in IT operations, with at least 2+ years in a people management role
• Proven experience managing remote IT teams and distributed workforces
• Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure acceptable), including EC2, S3, and IAM services
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks including NIST 2.0, ISO 27001, and GDPR compliance requirements
• Experience with IT service management tools (Jira Service Management, ServiceNow) and remote collaboration suites (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365)
• ITIL v4 Foundation certification preferred; CISSP or CISM certification a plus
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation of routine IT tasks
