This fully remote role offers the chance to apply cutting‑edge hydrological modeling and data analytics to real‑world challenges while enjoying flexible work arrangements. If you are passionate about environmental stewardship and thrive in collaborative, innovative settings, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

EcoHydrology Consulting is seeking a skilled Water Resources Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize water supply systems, flood mitigation strategies, and watershed restoration projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, planners, and stakeholders to develop resilient solutions that protect communities and ecosystems. The position is 100% remote, allowing you to contribute from any location while staying connected through virtual collaboration tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct hydrological analyses and generate predictive models using GIS, Python, and MATLAB.
  • Develop and evaluate water allocation plans for municipal, agricultural, and industrial clients.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate sustainability goals into project designs.
  • Monitor project performance and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field, with a Master’s degree strongly preferred. A minimum of three years of professional experience in water resources engineering, preferably within a consulting or governmental setting, is required. Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC‑RAS, SWMM) and data visualization tools is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, are critical for success in this role.

Education and Experience

Applicants should possess a solid academic foundation in hydrology, fluid mechanics, and environmental policy. Relevant internships, research projects, or full‑time positions that demonstrate hands‑on experience with watershed assessment, flood risk analysis, and infrastructure design will be given priority. Professional certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer) or LEED Accredited Professional are considered advantageous but not mandatory.

EcoHydrology Consulting offers a competitive benefits package designed to support work‑life balance and professional growth. Employees enjoy flexible scheduling, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer matching, and generous paid time off. Continuous learning is encouraged through tuition reimbursement, conference attendance, and access to industry‑leading training platforms. Our remote‑first culture also provides a stipend for home office equipment and high‑speed internet.
