About This Position
Sigma Defense is hiring a Systems Engineer I‑III in San Diego, San Diego County, to support U.S. Navy enterprise networks for PMW160 and NIWC Pacific. This role offers a fixed annual salary of $138,174.84 and involves system design, integration, and lifecycle support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate complex Navy IT network systems.
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software components.
- Provide ongoing lifecycle engineering support and documentation.
- Collaborate with Navy stakeholders, program managers, and partner teams to ensure mission‑critical applications and services meet performance and security requirements.
- Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3‑7 years of experience in systems engineering, preferably within defense or naval environments.
- Strong knowledge of DoD network architecture, cybersecurity standards (RMF, STIGs), and ITIL processes.
- Proficiency with system integration tools, scripting languages (Python, PowerShell), and virtualization platforms.
- Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with PMW160 or NIWC Pacific programs.
- Familiarity with cloud‑based solutions (AWS, Azure) and containerization.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+.
Compensation & Benefits
