Fund Accountant – Real Estate

Job Summary

Ascend is seeking a Fund Accountant – Real Estate in San Francisco, California. This role supports the Accounting Manager and Controller by handling fund accounting for multiple commercial real‑estate investment funds.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze cash flows for each investment portfolio and ensure accurate tracking.
• Approve fund expenses in accordance with investment guidelines.
• Respond promptly to investor inquiries and provide detailed account statements.
• Consolidate and reconcile investment accounts for funds, joint ventures, and co‑investments.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 2‑4 years of fund accounting experience, preferably in real‑estate or alternative investments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund structures, and joint‑venture accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Yardi).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
