About This Position
Job Summary
AHU Technologies Inc is hiring a Senior Construction Estimator for its Fairfield, New Jersey projects, based out of Washington, Washington, D.C. This full‑time, on‑site role requires at least 10 years of concrete/masonry estimating experience and offers a salary of $109,777 per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates for commercial concrete and masonry work in the NYC and New Jersey markets.
- Analyze bid documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost data.
- Prepare and present bid proposals, value‑engineered alternatives, and risk assessments.
- Support post‑bid negotiations and assist during the contract award phase.
- Monitor project cost performance and provide variance reports.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a concrete/masonry estimator on commercial projects.
- Proven track record of delivering accurate bids on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of NYC and New Jersey building codes, material costs, and labor rates.
- Advanced proficiency with estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Sage Estimating) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
