About the Role

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Electrical Designer to join our growing remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive electrical schematics, system layouts, and construction drawings for a diverse range of commercial and industrial projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure all designs meet applicable codes, safety standards, and client specifications. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from your home office while driving impactful engineering solutions from day one.

The ideal candidate thrives in a self-directed environment, communicates effectively across time zones, and takes ownership of design deliverables from concept through documentation. You will utilize advanced CAD and electrical design tools to produce accurate, cost-effective, and code-compliant electrical system designs that support project timelines and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical system layouts, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and control systems, using industry-standard CAD software.
  • Prepare detailed wiring diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment specifications for construction and procurement teams.
  • Ensure all designs comply with National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems with mechanical, structural, and architectural components.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical support to resolve field inquiries and construction challenges.
  • Maintain organized project files and document revision histories in accordance with company standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or a related engineering role.
  • Proficient in electrical CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, ETAP, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety protocols (NEC, IEC, or local equivalents).
  • Proven experience reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical system challenges.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects remotely and meet deadlines independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration with distributed teams.

Required Skills & Tools

Success in this role depends on your mastery of the following technical and soft skills:

  • AutoCAD Electrical or Revit MEP for 2D/3D electrical modeling and documentation.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for load calculations and report generation.
  • Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) workflows and clash detection processes.
  • Effective remote communication tools (Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and file-sharing platforms.
  • Ability to adapt to project-specific software and company-specific design templates.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in rewarding expertise and supporting a healthy work-life balance. This position offers a competitive salary range and a comprehensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of a remote workforce.
